Looks interesting, and according to the blurb, it can run at 3V, so should be directly compatible with the Propeller, but...

I can't make out the SIZE of the LCD. And without that, well...

· There's a mechanical drawing, shows the display/glass as 34.5 x 66 mm (appx 1.38 x 2.6 in.)· The character area is about 29 x 59 mm.
·
· (I think the connector at the top is 0.1in spacing, you could judge against that, too.)

· I got my displays a few weeks ago.
· Finally found the time to put together the LCD serial backpack for it.· They send you the components and a protoboard (it's NOT a pcb.)· Instead of their grid-holes protoboard, I Dremel'd out a piece of IC-pattern board.
· I'll have to see if I can borrow a friend's camera (my video-stills are too fuzzy for this.)
· In the meantime, here's a program that I made to check·it out.
· I found on my own that the sequences for DISPLAY CLEAR and envoking NORMAL or REVERSE display modes need a PAUSE before going on with Text functions (when all else fails, start placing PAUSEs between instructions.)
· Another thing I need to find out is which of the two pins connected to +5V is for the LED backlight.
· [By the way, on my backpack·I set up a 78L05,·and so·power it from "VIN"and not VDD.· If not for the backlight VDD might suffice, but I'd probably do it this way anyway.]

Good job, that looks nice!

BTW, that vise in the picture, I think that is one thing no one can be without. Did you get the PCB holder for it?

Eric R. -- Actually, the vise itself can't be seen, but it is a "PV-Jr." mounted to the Panavise tray.· I used the Dremel to modify the clamp (or whatever you call it) by cutting some pcb-width channels in it for boards to fit into.· It has a few angled cut-outs as is (for holding dowels, probably), but making the pcb-channels made it tweak.· I mostly do little boards, typically the size of the backpack, so I clamp 'em up and then spin 'em around as necessary.

Bean -- The serial backpack only knocks out characters (the standards, all the IBM keyboard and a bunch of the others with a dieresis and other accent marks.)· If you take a look at the ebay page on the·initial post.·the seller has a sheet of the "op codes", so it may be that one could actually pixel-bang it, but no further information past that.
