Controlling a variable-speed coin/pancake vibrator

I'm planning a project in which I'd like to control several variable-speed pager vibrators with a BASIC stamp. Someone has told me that these are also called coin/pancake vibrators.

1. Has anyone done this in the past?
2. Does anyone know where I can get some of these that will work with the BASIC stamp?

Since they're motors you'll need some sort of transistor buffer -- should be pretty easy, though.

My question would be do you just need on/off control or do you need speed and/or direction control?· I'm going to guess you don't need directional based on the type of motors, but I have seen these used in Bug-Bots, so...
