Internal Oscillator occasionally stops clocking

Hi Guys
I've built a couple of Jon's digital candles but using the SX28, larger caps and 4 penlights (2 diodes to drop the voltage). I cast 5 LEDs in a clear resin "flame". I have made a couple and·put them in a hurricane lamp and several imitation candles and they're very realistic. They’re awesome...
·
Trouble is the internal oscillator occasionally seems to hang or stop (just as you power up). You turn the lamp/candle off and on again and it works fine.
·
I’ve tied pins 1,2 & 28 to 5V, I use ports B0..B4 and I use the internal pull-ups on the rest of the I/O pins. OSC1 and OSC2 are not connected.
·
What am I missing?
Kind Regards from Kwa Dukuza
