93c46 eeprom

I recently bought some Microchip 93C46 Serial EEPROMS. I thought they would be similar to program as the 93C66 EEPROMS listed in the BS1 Starter Kit book, and I thought the programming wouldn't be much different for the BS2. Well, I can't get it to read/write anything. Any suggestions?
