Placing microcontroller onto a breadboard

For our project, we plan to take out the microcontroller from the education board (BOE) and place it onto a breadboard. How do we store our code into the microcontroller? Ideally, we don't want to make room on our breadboard for a serial port that connects to the computer. We are going to operate it on 5 Volts.

    This is for BS2

The code is already stored on the BASIC Stamp when you download it to it.· Moving the BS2 to a breadboard doesn't erase or remove the code.

What's the best way to take out the microcontroller from the education board? My friend took it out with a needlenose plier, and he broke off a pin.

Here are a couple of hints that might help:
    1. Use a 24 pin socket. Solder this on to the board, then you can remove the bs2 and program it on your board of education when you need to make changes.
Attached is a pic of one in action

    2. To remove the chip, use a little chip puller. google it.

    Good luck.

Gently pry under the module with something non-conductive.· Do this evenly from both ends so you don't bend the pins.· If you don't feel comfortable find some who is.
