Maxbotix: Less than one cubic inch, outputs in RS-232, or pulsewidth or voltage. Costs about $25.

Specs call for response from 6 inches to 254 inches.

    They were on sale at Maxbotix for $25 but they are back up to $30 now. I just picked up one at www.WrightHobbies.net for $25 though. They are still on sale there.

    They are pretty neat. Analog voltage out, Pulse width out and Serial data out, all at the same time! I have only been testing mine and watching the pulse and voltage outputs on a scope to check out object size vs. distance sensitivity for various types of surfaces.
