will i run into touble

i have always used a 4x4 matrix keypad for my projects


but with these new 4x4 membrane keypads ( they look so sleek)
will i run into trouble or is it just the same?
will i be able to use the same encoder

The answer to your question really lies in how these new membrane keypads are wired internally. If they are wired the same as the ones you presently use then there should be no problem. Also, the same encoder will work as well, although you don't mention which encoder you are using. Some keypad encoders are more versatile than others.
