Help with LCD

I'm usin a stamp works board with a 2x16 Parallel LCD and usin the example program and all i'm gettin is black squares.· IS the stampboard not compatible with the lcd or is there somethin else.

    Are you using the correct baud rate for your stamp?

    Is there a contrast adjustment on the LCD.· Perhaps it is up too high.

    Yes, the constrast pot is set to high -- you'll find it right next to the LCD connector.

    how can i check for the baud rate for the stamp

    ·· Parallel LCD Displays do not have a "Baud rate" so it could be your connections if it's not the contrast as suggested above.· What pins do you have the unit wired to?

    LCd has a header that connects directly to the stamp works board . Both as r supplied by parralax. Tried 2 different lcds and another board with same results. I cut and pasted the code fromn the stampworks resource area but not luck. Any other suggestions. When i adjust the contrast it goes from no squares to dark black squares in the top row. I'm usin the 12v 1000ma power supply. ty for the help.

    It sounds like possibly a wiring error...My previous reply asked what pins you had wired to where but you did not reply to that so I cannot determine that.
