I got my new issue of Nuts and Volts today. The website has not updated the front cover yet. http://www.nutsvolts.com/

Last month there was a contest for the new Z8 Encore! XP development board - on what you could use·it for. They were giving away 10 of these for the best responses and I was picked to win one.

At the time I was working on a BS2px, LCD, Matrix keypad, 700+ LED·project designing and building a 110 IC circuit for the NYC Fire Dept to map out address locations around the city with LEDs. The user would enter in a 4 digit address code which would turn on 1 of 700+ LEDs for 3 minutes·to a 6x4' map of the city at various address locations. I have since finished my part of the project and got paid. It is working well.

The magazine article is on page 86 / 87. - Tim Gilmore

When I receive the development board, I will look into the possibility of recreating my project using the development board.

Pretty cool to see you name in a Magazine - Although Jon is a pro at it for his great monthly STAMP contributions!

Thanks.

I've been published in Popular Electronics and Radio Electronics...Too bad they both went out of print.· I really loved the reader submitted circuits.··Never tried to have anything printed in Nuts & Volts (Or Circuit Cellar or Servo) yet.

The website has now been updated:

    http://www.nutsvolts.com/

The 10 winners names and project ideas are listed and that's about all in reference to the column that James Antonakos wrote·last month.

BTW: James just happened to also be one of my college professors that provided me alot of inspiration to challenge myself in school and life.

    Thanks.

I had an article published in Servo back in March 2004. Sorry but it didn't use a Stamp.

These publications, Servo, and Nuts and Volts, are hard pressed to come up with good articles. The pay isn't that great, about $400 for four pages, but there is a real need to keep these publications in print. Consider it you duty to "contribute to the cause" if you have an interesting project that others might enjoy.

I think the articles are great....but I honestly find more benefit in the questions people ask (and get answered) in the magazine.
There's some basic stuff there that's just great!

I've been procastinating, but will subscribe to the online edition soon...
(Just need to get my bank-accounts on the road to healing... )
Hopefully, it doesn't require a Windooze-specific program to read.

Before that I used to buy ETI (Electronics Today International), have a few Popular electronics magazines, a swedish one (Alt Om Elektronik) and a few others.
