Need Help With Stepping Motor Driver IM483

··· Hi all, I am surely a Newbie both to Basic Stamps and Electronics and need some help connecting a stepping motor and driver that I have. I have attached a schematic for the IM483 Micro Step Driver that I have. This is the min. connections required for the driver or at least that is what it says. I understand the P2 side where the motor is connected, but can someone explain the P1 side and how I should connect that to a BS2. Also, what command I will need to use. My thoughts are that I connect Pin 2 (Step Clock)on the P1 side to one of the output pins on the basic stamp. For example purposes lets say that would be connected to PIN-0 on the Basic Stamp. Then connect the direction Pin-3 on the P1 side to basic stamp Pin-1. Then last but not least I would connect Pin-3 on the P1 side to +5 Volts.
··· Once I have those connections and made the P2 side connections to the motor, my next question is do I use PLUSEOUT on PIN-0 as the Step/Clock?
