Seeking a DTMF decoder chip

Hello,
· I am looking for a DTMF decoder IC for a·BS2 communications project.· I am trying to send data, via a phone line, from one BS2 to another.··I·only have a few available I/O ports left, so a serial chip would be preferred.· If anyone has any suggestions on an appropriate IC (or on the project), I would appreciate your advice.

A very good DTMF chip seems to be the CM8880 (Parallax sells it). You can vary your tone duration and it can both decode and encode. However, it runs off 4 bit parallel plus 2 or three control pins. I have a BS2p40 almost maxed out in IO in my project, using this chip, an H-bridge, EEprom, an LCD controller and some AD's.

· Did Parallax discontinue their DTMF (I know they carried an IC up till recently)?
· If not, www.bgmicro.com still has them (Search for DTMF over there, I believe they have 2-3.)
