Is there currently any tools available for programming the SX chips on the Linux platform? If not, is there any place I could find information regarding communicating with the SX-Key for programming and debugging purposes so that I could perhaps create my own tools? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Try WINE or Cedega with the IDE for the SX chips...
If I had a SX setup I could experiment my self.. shakehead.gif

If you get em to work, let the forum know, as I am sure there are others interested too! yeah.gif

You may have to fiddle with the port parameters but the Windows software should work. Before doing so I would suggest downloading the latest release version of Wine (Yes, after 12 years in development version 1.0 is finally out). Depending on the speed of your hardware, things may be a little slow but they should work. Your alternative is to install QEMU and create a Windows 2000 or XP image that includes the Parallax tools. That will give you the best of both worlds and leave the port settings to QEMU which works very well.

    barteled,

The communication specs for programming a chip via the Sx-Key are available on the Parallax website. A search should turn up the URL. However, the specs for debugging are not available, so you're probably better off using WINE for that ability.
      Thanks, PeterM
