Interfacing BS2px with M48T08 clock/calendar?

Hi all...
I just found a bunch of these chips in a grab bag, and I was curious as to whether or not they can be interfaced with a BS2px. It is supposed to be compatible with the DS1643.
I've done quite a few different searches to try to find more information, but all I could really find was a datasheet (which I have attached).
Any assistance would be appreciated...
Jamie

· You could use shift registers (PISO and SIPO).
· If you're talented and adroit (we need more droits!) and can spare the I/Os, then·the inputs could be paralleled and the outputs SHIFTed (or vice versa.)
· Another thing is you have to tell them to turn on/off the internal battery (you need an "orderly shut-down" sequence, no bailing out without saying 'good night'.)
