Serial LCD Problem

···· I have Parallax serial LCD and their cable and connector. I powered up with the LCD in test mode and it shows the Parallax Default display. I then changed the switch settings on the back to 19K. I loaded a sample program from Parallax on my BS2 module and ran it. Everything worked find and it did a demo display.
··· After I turned off the power and power it back on about 1 hour later, all I get is a underscore. When I put the LCD back into the test mode it lights up and displays the default test display fine. But then when I power off and switch it back to 19K baud and run the program I only get a underscore. Does anyone have any Ideas or suggestions? Did the LCD module get fried or something? It does not make any sense to me, but then I am a NewBee so that explains alot.
