Looking for Force Sensitive resistor strips

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for FSR strips. I am looking for something like a ribbon controller. About 5-12" long and about 1-2" wide. Variable resistance based on position (not force), something like a voltage divider.

Hi,

Thanks. I did come across this company but it turns out the FSR is only responsive to force and not position. I'm looking for something that will work like a linear potentiometer, where you will get different resistance readings based on where you are touching the strip. (Like a slide pot).

The sensor below, is from TekScan. It measures 4.5 by 1 inch and provides position as well as magnitude.

I don't know if they still do this, but at the time I was able to get this sensor through TekScan's "Custom"
FlexiForce Sensor as an overage of stock that they happened to have from another customer.

Here is a site i found for some neat touch and proximity sensors, not big on the prices, but some of the stuff is interesting to look at. Not much in the way of tech info, but they do have some good video examples of operation.

If you'd like to try a bit of home brewing, the foam blocks that Stamp modules are shippied in ( the black stuff ) is conductive and the resistance can be varied by squeezing it. Also, if you put a couple of pieces end-to-end with a slider, you can probably get enough resistance change to work with.
