Checked and recheck the wiring:

P1->E
P2->RW
P3->RS
P4->DB4 (right)
P5->DB5 (right)
P6->DB6 (right)
P7->DB7 (right)

Loaded SW20-EX11-LCD_Demo.BS2, compiled and uploaded into STAMP. No changes!

I get nothing on the LCD!?

I have made double sure the DB4..DB7 connectors are plugged in on the right side as the Stampworks manual shows ( pg 76 ).

Is my LCD dead? How can I test it?

Steve

I have uploaded the program ( now called lcd.bs2 but unedited from the original )

    Do you have a 10K potentiometer connected to Vo (Contrast control)? See the hookup diagram here for more info www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=603-00006

    Also if you are using the PDB, make sure the pre-wired contrast control is not turned all the way down -- this has the same result as the post above.

    Where did you get the LCD? Some have negative contrast bias and won't work with that board. The parallel LCDs in our catalog work just fine.

    Charlie,

    That was it - thanks! I had noticed that pot before and wondered what it was for.

    Now I know!

    Woo Hoo ... Now to get it working with my clock.
