Toddler Servo

Hi everyboby
Excuse my poor english; i am writing to you, from Cannes,french riviera

I try to make my own Toddler with a board of education.
I have bought "parallax continuous rotation servo" to power the robot.
But it seems quite difficult to drive the Toddler with these servo.
The most difficult problem is to center the servos.

Is it possible to use these servos with the toddler ?

    Bienvenue! -- you're certainly writing from a beautiful part of the world (I was lucky enough to visit Cannes one day).

    The C/R (continuous rotation) servo is not suitable for Toddler type robots, they are intended to be "motors" for BOE-Bot type robots. The Todder requires a standard servo that will move back-and-forth through a fixed arc. You should be able to acquire servos at a local hobby shop if you don't have a Parallax distributor close. The Futaba S148 is very popular and is what our servos are based on.

    Unfortunaltely, you have purchased the WRONG servo.

    The Toddler does not use continuous rotation.
    As you found out, it is possible to loose track of where the center is.

    Either you need to have some method of creating feedback about when your return to center,
    you need to be extremely careful about calibration of center each time you power up,
    or you need to consider a conventional 180 degree servo.

    Alternatively, you can use stepper motors.
    In that way, you might build a larger robot.

    Thank you everybody for quick answer.
    I've understood my mistake (i though it was possible to center the servo
    and to have a feed back)
    I will purchase the good ones.
