Having IR Reciever power an LED

Building my next robot.· I am a beginner.· Looked for clues in here and in the NV articles.
I want to have my robot light up and led that indicates the IR sensor is recieving an IR signal. This robot has 6 IR Sender/Reciever pairs, and utilizes·2 servos.·(Total·14 pins!)·(I have read the articles on the shift register IC's, and will do that next project)
I was wondering if there was any way to hook LEDs up to the input signal on the IR reciever line so they would light when the IR recieves.· Since the IR opens the voltage line, doesn't it.·
Thanks to all for the help!!!
