simple video playback

I'm building this robot.· More like an art project.· 5" plexi box.· Small rotating panels in upper corners of front face.· IR ranging "eye" front face between rotating panels.· "Eye" is connected to BS2.· When object comes within range actuates·a cannibalized·carrier mechanism for sensor in a CD player.· Mechanical linkage rotates the two front face panels. I intend to put little video screen on these panels.· Each will play short videos of eyes looking, blinking, doing what eyes do.· When video is done, panels close. All of the robotics have been worked out. I've cannabalized a Gateway DV-s20 for LCD and circuitry.· Had everything going ok.· Got BS2 to operate video circuitry.··But things have gone south.· There is some sort of power problem.· I've stripped out so much functionality fromthe DV-s20 I'm surprised that it ever worked.· Now I'm thinking, since this is supposed to be a learning experience why not just build the video circuits from the ground up.· I've studied the problem some but I really need some guidance.· Any general or specific guidance would be greatly appreciated·
