LCD displays a variation on a theme

Hello!
Not too long ago an enterprising individual came up with a novel idea. He wrote a Palm program that would have one those pose as a LCD display. These displays are similar to the ones that Matrox Orbital makes in theory. The default in this is the LK204-25. Is this the model that the LCD commands for the BS2 speak for? Since the Palm does do reasonably normal serial communications, and the commands codes are reproduced on the website http://palmorb.sf.net·it was my idea to eventually get this to work for the·Basic Stamp. I unfortunately only have a Stamp1 here but I'd like to get the program for the Palm to talk to my Stamp1.
I am requesting input from the community to try this out for themselves and to report back to this thread with their results, both good and bad.
I freely admit that this as strange as say finding an evergreen in the middle of the Death Valley desert, but this is the first place I thought of.
