How do I? I have a Windows XP machine. I'm thinking HyperTerminal, but I don't know how to use it.

If your question is on using Hyperterminal you should consult their documentation.· I can tell you that it's quite easy, to use and I frequently use it with an SX chip, usually connect to my PC through a USB2SER.· I've attached one of my simple SX/B demo programs that I've run with Hyperterminal.

THANK YOU! I do have some questions about the program, like when I try to assemble it there are a bunch of 'Unknown Commands' and 'Invalid Parameters'.

My fault, I renamed the subroutines without fixing the calls to them (I tweak my programs a lot, and·sometimes·have to stop in the middle of things as duties call)·-- download the program again, and do make sure that you're running SX/B 1.42.

I find that Hyperterminal requires some effort to learn, but it is quite worth the effort.
You can use it with all the BasicStamps, the SX-28 and the SX-52.

You just have to accept getting up to speed on its commands and details.

The BasicStamp's 'regular' port has full time echo, so if you don't want that feature you should configure and other pins for your Rx and Tx.

Have you opened the Hyperterminal Help file?· And remember, Geek, Google is your friend -- give it a try.· In the meantime, you can use my SX/B file to get you going; save this onto your system and open it with Hyperterminal (it's setup for using the USB2SER or a MAX232-type adapter).

Yes, but it didn't make any sense. I did find a site right after I posted the last post, so I now have it up and running. THANK YOU, GUYS! Jon, thank you for getting involved with the BS2 and SX!

OK, I just got 2 MAX232CPE+ yesterday and have built a circuit with one but, it doesn't work. I'm not sure if the circuit is different than the one for the MAX232, and I can't find any info on it.
