I feel like a real moron not being able to find these types of boards...
pRS1C-2265166w345.jpg
Radio Shack used to sell them in several different sizes and patters... The Radio Shacks in the malls don't stock any components or other DIY supplies anymore... any idea of a good source... the ones at DigiKey and Jameco seem very expensive (especially for ones with Power/ground interleaves)· Any ideas where to buy them?

You can get that exact board you have shown in your post at Radioshack's web site for $3.29

    Steve,

Jameco and Digi-Key each have a nice selection.· I've used the Jameco boards and they are a bit pricey, but very high quality.

Sorry for the snippy response... sometimes words express emotions that are not intended!· My appologies.· Just a bit frustrated in finding a good source for what used to be a very common item...

I was looking at the ONE-PASSircuit boards from http://www.hobbyengineering.com/CatCPSOLD.html which seem really nice, but kind of expensive...·the RadioShack boards were less than $2.

    i1227-200x104.jpg

    Again, my sincere appologies!

Allelectronics.com sells a quality board, imported by Velleman, I think. They are 6.3 by 3.94 inches, green fiberglass with tin or silver plate. They cost $5.50 each. They come in five different configurations. Look at parts ECS-1, ECS-2, ECS-3. ECS-4 or ECS-5.

I use them for back planes on my robots and they are solid.

Look for the stand-alone radio shacks. The one I got to still has some parts, so chances are the other ones (that are not in a malls) do too.

    Yep.

Radio Shack has made a decision to stock mall stores and stand-alones differently. The mall stores have fewer electronics parts, the stand-alones more. (Well, more than they did a few years ago, less tham they did 15 years ago.)

BTW, not all boards are the same quality.

The cheap ones are on a phenolic paper composition that can swell and bend with humidity.
The more expensive ones are epoxy impregnated fiberglass which is far more stable.

Again, the cheap ones often omit an tinning, just bare copper which gets oxidized from air polution in storage.

One pass is quite an interesting system, but their prices really are a bit daunting.

We don't have Radio Shack in Taiwan, but I can easily but small cheapies with the RadioShack lable on them.
I guess the manufacturer is in Taiwan.

Here is another place for low cost prototyping PCBs

    http://www.mcminone.com/search.asp?keyword=pcb+board

MCM typically sells to electronic repair and installers. They sometimes have great sales on these PCBs.
