Question:· Can you use non-polarized tantalum capacitors to replace polarized electrolytic capacitors?

Background:· My project is to make a "programmer interface" to a "Stamp-Lite".· The Stamp-Lite is basically just the pre-programmed PIC, EEPROM,and resonator.· The "Programmer Interface" is based on on a MAX232.· the circuitry for the MAX232 requires (4) 1uF electolytic capacitors as part of the circuit...·I don't have any on-hand, but do have a bunch of 1uF Tanatalum Caps.· Can I subtitute tantalum for electrolytic caps in this instance?
