One of the places I like to frequent is a local "Fry's Electronics" if for nothing else, just to look at all the stuff.
Anyway, I'm looking for a particular book, and there is a section nearby dedicated to nothing but "Game Boy" equipment.
As I was walking away something caught my eye for $9.99 that allowed you to play multiple player games with other people
wirelessly. I looked closer at the package and it looks like it would be a simple "HACK" to interface this to a Stamp. I don't
know what the range is (didn't say). I assume it is bi-directional where two of them might make for an interesting project.
Next time I'm there, I might just pick up a few to play with.
BTW) There was also a module that would allow you to check your E-mail via your Game Boy! Good Grief Charlie Brown!

I purchased the serial cable and the wireless model to test out. The wireless module uses 2.4 Ghz and only has a range of 10 feet. You basically have to figure out how to get the Gameboy to do what you want. Without a cartrage installed it is basically a single board computer with no hard drive. It has built in something called a multiboot system that allows you to upload programs to the internal RAM and run the program from there. I guess you would have to have the stamp upload a program into the Gameboy to allow for communication.
If anyone knows how to do this please let me know.
