Updating the IDE to invoke the New SXSim and SX/B

Hi All,

OK, I was right to update the IDE to invoke the new version of the SX/B, I just
copied the new .EXE over the old .exe in the SXKey\Compilers\SXB directory.

Now I tried to do the same with the SXSim under SXKey\Tools\SxSim

BUTfreaked.gif

When I started the IDE it reported the Following Messages in sequence
·· See attached Img1.jpg & Img2.Jpg & Img3.jpg

Now If I say NO in response to the 2nd message the IDE works and All is OK
and the Latest(2.08) version of the SXSim is invoked from the IDE.
But the messages keep appearing every time I start the IDE.

BUT.........?????????????
If I say yes then the IDE works and All is OK and The OLD (2.06) version of the
SXSim is invoked. And the IDE stops showing the messages every time it starts.

It seems that the IDE creates the SXSim.exe and Manual .PDF files and it
likes only version 2.06 to be there

??????????? What gives here??????????????

Can any one help?
Can I correct this?

Regards

Samuel

    Samuel,

There is an incompatibility between newer version of SxSim and the IDE due to a communications change that was made to make them work better together. There is a newer version of the IDE that will be coming out that works with the new SxSim versions. Until then, you can run SxSim manually and load the .LST files that the IDE creates in it. You just can't launch the new SxSim from the current IDE.

BTW, the IDE always clears any existing .LST files when it closes if configured to "SASM files to 'SASM output' dir." Either assemble your code and copy the .LST without closing the IDE or uncheck the option in the configuration dialog. If unchecked, the .LST files (and the other files that SASM creates) will be stored in the same directory as the source file and won't be removed when the IDE closes.
      Thanks, PeterM

    Thankyou PeterM

I will use the manual method , But will be waiting for the new version of the
    IDE.

    Thanks

    Samuel,

please see the "IMPORTANT NOTE" at the end of the very first posting in the "sticky" SXSim thread for more information about that problem. Sorry for the inconvenience - it will be fixed with the next release of the IDE. Actually, it was my fault removing support of the "old" communication method from SXSim before the new IDE is released.

    Mr Gunther,

I must say that the SXSim is very very useful. The I/O Panel and the
ability to debug without actually having the SXKey connected and running
    makes development a lot easier.

Thank you AGAIN for another great contribution to the SX community.
