VFD Displays
Well, I am looking for a graphics display with high visibility about 120x60 pixels size, two color.
I have found the VFD displays that seem to be perfect for my application, but I·a wonder if·these displays are·suitable for battery operated devices ? It seems by specificactions that take lots·of power!
Any suggestion for a high-visibility, battery operated,·display other than VFDs? I have found also the color transflective TFTs but these are *very* expensive.
For high-visibility I mean: visible under any light condition and type(for example, in the darkness, with tungsten bulbs,·as well as under direct·Sun light)·and with a reasonable view angle. If it is possible to control brightness it would be better (VFDs allow for this too).

STN-type (Super Twisted Nemitic) LCDs are pretty darned good, they have viewing angles much better than the TN-type, and they're available with LED backlights.· They're the sort with the irridescent back that they've started using·in watches now, too.· A contrast knob would top it off nicely.
