Best book(s) on robotics?

I have Robot Builder's Bonanza, but I'm looking for a book with more. I searched Amazon, but a ton (literally) of books show up, and not all of them have good reviews. Even some of the ones with good reviews are outdated (I guess technology advances fast in this area). I'm looking for books that cover anything-designing, building, programming, etc. Anyone have good experiences with a book?

You might be best served looking for books that focus on just one subject... For example, search for books that just focus on electronics, or just focus on mechanics, or just focus on Programming.

Ok, well, anyone know any books that cover any one of these topics fairly well?

Wow, thanks for the list. That's just what I'm looking for (especially that one on drive trains).

The "Building Robot Drive Trains" is pretty good... it is acutally part of the "DNA Series" on robotics... I think there an other one in the Series called "Constructing Robot Bases"... you can probably buy both together at Amazon as a pair and save a buck or two.

    Steve,
There are actually 3 in the series, although the third is just beyond the tip of my brain...sad, because I actually have all three, but I'm at the office at the moment...
Memory is the second thing to go...

Well, I checked Amazon, and the third book in the robot DNA series is "Programming Robot Controllers." However it only has a 3.5 star rating. I guess I'll get the one by Joseph Jones instead to cover programming.

I also looked up the Robot Builder's Sourcebook, and the latest review on Amazon says that the internet links in it are mostly outdated, since it was written in 2002 (so don't get it if you are reading this and are considering it).

I'll be sure to pick up some of the other books though, thanks.
