I want to do a Caller-ID project.· I want to, of course, decode the Caller-ID data.· It's 1200 8N1, FSK (Mark = 1200 Hz = 1, Space = 2200 Hz = 0).
Can't find any Caller-ID ICs (like the MC145447.)
·
Maybe I could dink around with a tone decoder (1200 = 1, anything else = 0)?
Maybe I could use the CH1786A?· Can it be configured so that it is always "off-hook" without actually engaging the C.O.?
FSK demodulator, FSK demodulator,...

I found that XR2211 FSK demodulator ICs are still available (and XR2206 FSK generator ICs, too.)· I think I can cobble this together.· Part of a system where people who are on My List get routed to WWV, stuff like that.
A project that comes to mind is a device that records the incoming tel # from one of those spam faxes and then constantly calls them back asking to be removed from the list .... as least that way you could tie up their line! LOL

Hence, "...stuff like that."
I'm as mad as heck and I'm not gonna take it anymore.
