Do you really need eight digits? If you can live with five then the MC14489 is another chip to look at. The latest version of StampWorks uses it, and you can find it in my November Nuts & Volts column (available online).

Thanks to Jon @ Parallax·· No I do not need 8 displays I kind of· came across the· MC 14489· and SLED4C· vol 6 . I will try to look at this.

    · I would like to add a few comments,· I have used a·Forum before or chat before but·I am so impressed with the help available you have NO idea.

For years I studied electronics (before the internet) and I would wish for help.· So this goes out to all of you out there· THANKS· you have no idea how over whelming· I feel.

    · Could you contact me, here or private and give me some guide lines on how to talk·etc on the forum.

·· I tryed to buy the SLED4C today but both stores could not find it.

I hope to make a counter·or clock type display for various projects. I tryed a ·7490 decade counter but when i cascade two displays together it seems to be full of gliches that throw the count off
