How is one to physically connect to the Sout and Sin pins on the BS2 module. I'm using a BoE serial version Revision C. Touch the pin on the module? Touch the pin on the serial port?

Please see the attached graphic for proper connection of a BASIC Stamp to a PC.

Okay, thanks. But seeing that there aren't any wire receptacles on the BoE for Sin and Sout, how do I attach it? Solder to the module's pin 1 and 2?

The pins on the Stamp are meant to plug into a socket or breadboard... you are not suposed to physically connect the wires to the Stamp.· What does a breadboard look like?· What does a socket look like?· Check out the BOE...

For Sin and Sout most people just plug in a standard serial cable and connect to their PC.· If you're trying to connect Sin and Sout to something else, bear in mind that they're inverted and meant for RS-232 level connection.· What exactly are you trying to connect to these pins that can't be done with the serial cable?

If you have programmed a BS2, you have connected a cable Sin and Sout which are physically pins 1 and 2 on the Stamp. If you want to use it in your program, ( Read up on the SEROUT and SERIN commands) you specify pin 16 for the Tx pin ( SEROUT) or 16 for the RX pin (SERIN) command.
