Using the JIDE on a Mac

Has anyone out there tried using the JIDE on a Mac, using Microsoft's Virtual PC? If so, are there any quirks? I'm thinking of doing this and want to make sure this won't adversely affect the Javelin Stamp.

Programming requires exact timing·so this may or may not work. Try it.

Monitoring the JIDE port with JideWinTerm program

    should be no problem.

I just tried programming a javelin from VMWare 4.0 running win98se, on a winxp celeron II 450MHz

machine. No problem with programming one of the supplied examples.

I think virtual pc is then ok too.

Thanks for the response, Peter. I noticed that you tried this on a Wintel platform. I was wondering if this could be done on a mac.

It seems if I use the Virtual PC on my Apple Powerbook and load Win2K, I'll also have to load the Keyspan USB drivers (under Win2K) since the mac doesn't speak to a com serial port.

At least, that's the theory wink.gif
