Hey,

I was starting new project based on the SX48.
Then I found out that ExpressPCB does not have a SMT pad for the 48 pin TQFP.

Anybody has drawn the SMT pads for this chip on ExpressPCB?

Thanks.

    Hi William,

Check out this custom component, I haven't used it yet so check the dimensions before you commit to it.

    Kevin,

    Thanks a million.

Seems like the component you drawn is for top surface ( based on the pin numbering arrangement ) but the pad colors seems to be
green which is for bottom surface.

Never mind, I'll change them to red for top surface.

    Thanks again. cool.gif

I, too, have interest in this with an upcoming project.· I just happened to get a note from ExpressPCB today about a software update and have asked them to add a 48-pin TQFP package to their library.· Mine was built based on the dimensions we use for our own boards.·

After you open the file, click on the SX48 component and then select Component\Save Custom Component from the menu.· Mine follows the naming convention used by ExpressPCB:

SMT TQFP - 0.5 mm pitch - 48 pin (top surface)

I'll make you a footprint if you can send me the mechanical drawing.
