dual row header for wires?

I've been searching hundreds of PDFs from Jameco, Digikey, etc, until my eye's hurt without luck.· I'm trying to find a 20 pin, dual row header·to connect to the appmod connector on a BOE.· The kicker is that·I would like males pins on one side and solder/crimp connectors on the other.· I have a project that uses a 15' DB25 to connect a remote box to a controller box with the BOE.· I could always connect the wires to the connector using a normal header and a PCB, but·I would love to just·connect the wires directly to the header.· I could solder the wires·to the exposed pins, but I'm trying to avoid leaving the connections exposed.· I am also trying to avoid using a ribbon cable between the two boxes for other reasons, so I've ruled that option out.· Any ideas?

Thanks!

On Jameco's website their part number 514706 is what you'd need for a solder/PCB connection.· The only way I know of to get crimp connectors is to first go with a header into another socket.· That would be part numbers 496173 or 103229 and then you would need the crimp contact sockets (496261) and a 20-pin dual-row header which has long pins on both ends.

At DigiKey you can get C-Grid connectors.· I usually use the female contacts and mate them with board-mounted headers.· However, they also have male pins that you can crimp onto your wires and run those into a standard 'body'/housing and you can then plug that into a board-mounted SIP socket or IDE-type socket (they mate with the HomeWork Board headers very well AND likewise the experimenter board.)

    Have a look:
