How long can it be?

Hello all.

Please consider that I'm relatively new to the world of microcontrollers.

Let's say I want to build a graphical LCD type humidity/thermometer to measure and display outdoor heat and humidity. If not wireless, then what kind of wires would I need, to hook the outdoor parts up with the indoor BS2, and how long can these wires max be?

    That depends on your connection type; if you go direct you probably don't want to do more than a few meters, but if you use something like RS-485 you could go about 1300 meters. For that kind of stuff you might want to visit www.lvr.com and if you can find the book "Serial Port Complete" it is worth having.
