Christmas Light Display

Last year I built a outdoor tree using 16 strings of lights controlled by a BS2E. I would like to sync it with this years 15 four foot trees that are also BS2E controlled in a triangle formation along with a third BS2E that control the lights on the house.

By sync I mean not light string for string but rather sync the patterns that will complement one another.

My question is this, should one BS2E display·serout to the others (I would need to cut back on I/O for 3 serout) or should I just use another BS2E as the "main brain" and serout to the 3 stamps?

Anyone have a better suggestion? I would rather not try to expand the I/O on one BS2E as each display will fill the memory of each stamp with all the patterns.

With all the brain power on this forum I am sure someone will have some great ideas yeah.gif

It would be pretty easy to create a slaved system like that -- but.... you have a BS2e with eight program slots and you could simply jump from one slot to the next (daisy chain) to build a long sequence.· You might want to have a look at the sequencer program I've attached.· This tends to be more efficent that the the OUTs = , PAUSE X routine than many folks use and you can squeez a lot more sequence into memory than you think.

I saw that video last night. My question is: which ParallaxEFX member is behind that over-the-top display? ;)

That is the video that started this thread. My 16 string tree is smaller but very similar in function with the BS2E. Maybe by next year I will be in about the same position as he is.
