The PWMPAL has TTL level outputs; you can drive any motor you choose with properly selected driver components. Just to be clear, the PWMPAL is not capable of providing enough current to drive motors directly, you'll need to use some sort of transistor buffer.

If your need is to power a rolling robot, then you might consider an H-Bridge circuit, so you can control direction and speed of the wheels, and a PWMPAL.
