·· I'm brand new to this stuff. I just got a stamp discovery usb kit. and want to build a reaction timer system accurate to·.001 sec or better, for up to 8 seperate stations. my current understanding is that the stamp is not accurate to that level. so·the idea is, build a seperate clock controlled by the stamp to give a start signal and turn on a led ( as a indicator for me to press a switch· and stop the timing cycle) record that value and send it to a laptop for display and maybe out to a printer.··I'm thinking I should·build an astable clock (probably a number of them) using a 7555 ic and some kind of counter ic.(what kind is best?) send that to a flash eeprom for storage. ·Now the hard part. How do i get that clock count·into a laptop so i can display, save,·track, ect. I·know a little visual basic programming and almost nothing about digital circuits. i've got a few books and i'm trying to· learn. I figure I'll have to use switch debounce· or smitt trigger·circuit, for the start·and stop signals.· Can anyone help point me in·the right direction?·· thanks·· curlydon·
