Java problem

I am on AOL andI enjoy relaxing playing the Pogo games.· Today I could not get any of the games to open.· All of the preliminary screens came up OK, but the loading indicator just kept flashing with never a game showing up.· At the bottom of the screen I noticed:

Exception: java.lang.NullPoint exception

Does anyone know what this means?· Is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks

Sid

Newzed, there are a number of reasons this can occur. Some things to try.....

Make sure you have the latests release of the JVM, it is likely that an update could have been made serverside to the game you are trying and it no longer works with the version of the JVM you have.

Check this in Internet Explorer Tools>options>(advanced·tab), scroll down to the java line (look for the tell tale coffee cup), make sure use JRE 1.x.x is checked, right below that also make sure The Microsoft VM, JIT compiler is also checked. These can sometimes become disabled with Security Suite updates, and on rare occasions with MS Windows Updates, especially if you havnt ran windows update in a while or just got service pack 2.

And lastly, I am not familiar with AOL, but· I have done some consulting with IBM products, we used to see this error on occasion when a user would manually change a url from https (secure http), to just http, I doubt this is the case but I figured i'd mention it as anything is possible.

Hopefully one of the above suggestions helps.
