BOE-BOT software with MAC

Hey all!

I just received my Boe-Bot and would like to know how well this works with that MAC software that Parallax has on their website? I'm currently running MAC OS X and would like to program with this laptop. However, I have a PC on hand that I can use, but I rather my MAC. Is anyone using their MAC to program their boe-bot? Or should I really stick to PC? Help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks smilewinkgrin.gif

You can program the Boe-Bot with your Mac by using the MacBS2 program - a free download at www.muratnkonar.com/otherstuff/macbs2/index.shtml

If you bought the USB Boe-Bot, you'll need to download and install the FTDI USB drivers from FTDI's web site. If bought the serial Boe-Bot, then you'll need a USB to serial converter such as the FTDI model that Parallax sells. I use a Keyspan USB-serial adapter and it works fine also.

Thanks very much! I have the USB version. I checked that FTDI USB driver stuff from the FAQ. Is that problem he mentioned just with the USB-serial adapter? Or do I need to download an older version? Thanks Forrest.

    I don't have a USBBOE - but if I did I would follow the author's advice here www.muratnkonar.com/otherstuff/macbs2/faq.shtml#FTDI

I've been doing this for a while. The short version:

Install the FTDI drivers that Murat linked to.
    Restart
Install MacBS2 and the tokenizer (it auto-downloads as I recall)
    Plug in your USBBoE
    Launch MacBS2
    Enjoy!
