ExpressPCB Help

I am just learning the Express PCB software and seem to be stuck on the first try.

I made a schematic, saved it, went to ExpressPCB, inserted the components, Linked the schematic. The pins turn blue like they should to highlight the net connections but I don't seem to know how to insert a SYMBOL in the PCB program so I cant hook up wires to symbols like Gnd for example. So how do I do that?

SYMBOLS don't go in the PCB program.· They can only be inserted in the SCH program.

If I have a Gnd symbol in the schematic and link it to the PCB program, you are saying it dosen't do anything, the PCB program won't know what pins are tied to the Gnd symbol or any other symbols like Ports. Like it shows the components connections? So using multipul Ground sysmols in a schematic can create a nightmare when trying to implement it to the actual PCB. Or am I missing something.

Can you post your schematic file?

Post our PCB layout also.· I'll run them and see if I can find out what the problem is.

This is just a sample I made to see how the two programs interact.

I would think the Ground , the +9volts and the Port that I have as symbols should have connections or pads that I need to put in the PCB
program so I can wire all the pads to all the components correctly.

They won't until you connect them to something. If you add a 3-pin connector that also has those symbols attached, then you will see them -- right now they are symbols with no physical place to go.
