Hi everyone,

We have installed a Google search engine and opened it up for a more extensive test. In it's current configuration, it updates overnight - every night. The contents include data from the forums, the Parallax main site and the Scribbler Robot web site. You can reach the engine at:

http://search.parallax.com

Please let me know if you have any troubles or receive unexpected results.

Seems to be working quite well, Jim.· I search a few threads using minimum information and got good results.· It's a bit cluttered with those items from search areas other than the forum, but then you can't have everything.· Big improvement.

    Sid,

I understand the clutter factor. There is a feature in the advanced search page that will allow you to target a specific domain (forums.parallax.com) for your searches. Violla, no more clutter! Thanks for the feedback.

Much much better, but still not perfect.

This thread still slips through google's grasp: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=541354

    searched:

    current source pwm

    illuminate

    ACX705AKM

    nail on the head

All these terms are in the thread, but none of them return the thread in the results.

    Paul,

I'll leave perfect for theoretical statisticians :)

We didn’t crawl 100% of the forums site, so there will be some missing pages. I’m working to overcome that issue over the next few days. There was a lot more on this site than I first estimated.

gotcha, my prior post may seem like nitpicking, I do appreciate a functional search engine. I don't expect noobs to use it anymore than they presently use google, but at least it will reduce the time for me to look for thier answer when I am so inclined.
