Destruction of PM

I was responding to a PM, so I freed up enough space to send the reply (49 messages 1 free), when I submitted the reply, I had received a new PM in the interm, and I got the prompt that I had exceeded my mailbox·limit and the 4 paragraph, in depth reply dissapeared into the ether.
Now before I get the responses "don't keep your mailbox so full" or "compose your messages in Word then paste"; I still think that if I entered into the reply dialog, I should be able to bypass the second mailbox fullness check when submitting the post, regardless of how many received PMs I have gotten while composing the message.

The system has a limit to the number of private messages it will store for each member. In your situation, you had one slot available and it was filled by an inbound message. When you submmitted your message, the system correctly determined that your PM store was full. Since it cannot retain your sent message, the system does not permit the message to be sent. And that's why you always want to leave a little wiggle room in your PM store.
