ASCII to 1-Wire (HA7S)

Hello, I've found a product on the net wich seems really interesting to use in my application (domotic) and I'd like to know if someone have already used it and how to use it because I have one at home but my tests on it didn't give me satisfaction.
The componound is a HA7S from "point six inc.". It avoid to sens a simple ascii code and it's make the searchROM,MatchROM,Search of componounds,etc for 1-Wire componounds... It looks so very usefull and easy to use but my tests were not good. So I'm just asking me if it's mine wich is bad or if it's the way I use it wich is not good.
Can someone help me?
