I just bought the microcontroller starter kit with the Basic stamp homework board. I'm really new to programming microcontrollers but have taken basic and visual basic, as well as c++, my question is can i save the program to the board so it does not need to be connected to the pc in order to run? for example if i program the board with a light sequence and then disconnect it from the pc will it save the program and run when i connect power? if not is there a board I can purchase that will? again my really new at this and would be greatful for any help.

After you program the Basic Stamp, you can disconnect the programming cable and run the program by connecting power to the board or pressing the reset button on the homework board.

Also, when you program the stamp, the program remains intact even if you disconnect the power!
