Zip-Zap + Wirless Webcam + Boe-Bot + Parallel control = teh fun?

for my final project in electroincs tech, im going to take the zip-zaps remotle control car, interface it with the boe-bot, take the contoller, interface that with my parallel port, and then buy a wireless webcam and mount it to the boe-bot. the result should be a completley wireless robot able to explore thru my laptop screen. my real question is if anyone can help me either A) show me how/tell me how to interface the remote to the parallel port, and/or B)show/tell me how to program it. i know VB6, VB.NET, QBasic, Java, HTML, JavaScript. one thing that would be nice is if i could rig something up thru IE so i could control the robot remotley (this would work as long as latop is on, and remote desktop was enabled, correct?)

it'll be a couple weekd before i can start, becuase my dad is out of town and all my stuff is over at his house, but once i start, i will be sure to post pictures.

other projects ive been exploring are:

*the plasma cannon from Predator, the gun is aimed via a laser mounted on head, and fired via a switch in your··· palm. obviosly, this would require a webcam, some software and such, but ive seen it done.

*mounting my electronic paintball gun on my robot once i have it wireless

There is a Perl module available for accessing the Parallel Port (although I've never used it). If it works as advertised, you can build a web based controller using Apache2 and Perl CGI code.
