Hi, I am just learning about the Basic stamp processor and support hardware.· What is the SX48 proto board and what hardware is necessary to start programming the sx series and interfacing it with inputs/outputs.
How many I/O are available on this type of processor?
thanks,
James

To program the SX - you'll need at least an SX-Key ($79). For $10 more you can get the SX Tech Tool kit Lite which also includes a programming board for the SX28, some chips, resonators, book and a cable. For $20 more you can get the SX Tech Tool kit which includes everything in the Lite version plus SX Programming book. More information here www.parallax.com/sx/programming_kits.asp

We also offer the SX Tech Tool Kit PRO which includes our PDB -- you can use this for your SX and BASIC Stamp experiments.· Right now I'm working on a PSX controller "helper" chip for BASIC Stamps using the SX28 and SX/B, and I'm able to build and test everything -- including the interaction between the Stamp and SX -- right on the same board.
