How do you test Bs-2 stamps to see if any good

···· I had a bs-2 that I used about 3 years ago.· Now when I try to use it, The stamp software can not identifty it.· I have tried it on three different machines.··· One says· loop-yes, echo-no·. the other two say loop-no echo-yes.·· I have one on a usb to serial connector.· The other two are on com 1.· I dont know what to do at this point.· I have look at the forum and got no ideas.· Can anybody please help.

    ·· What board are you plugging it into?· What is the power source?· And what brand USB to Serial Adapter are you using?· Oh, and on each machine, which ones had COM Ports, and which did you have to use the Adapter?· IOW, which were laptops and which were desktops?

    ····· Got it figured out. I had to tie the com port ground to the basic stamp ground.· The stamp showed right up on two of the three machines. The other machine I am not even going to mess with.
