I know that the maximum output current of the STAMP is 20ma. What can I do to increase the current? Any additional components?

thanks..

One common way of controlling a large current with the stamp is to use a transistor that will act like a switch to ground.
If the current is 150 mA or less the 2n3904 circuit should work. For currents up to about 350 mA replace the 2n3904 with a 2n2222. And for much higher currents like 5 to 6 amps·the IRL520 should do.

And you must read the following.

You could also buy a darlington transistor logic chip, like the ULN2003. And combine the lines in parallel untill you have reached your required ma. of coarse depending on your ma requirements. Each darlington line is capable of 500ma. Parallel the lines and you will most likely exceed your power supply before you exceed the abilities of the ULN2003. (combine all ULN2003 lines = 7 x 500ma = 3500ma total possible or 3.5 AMPERE!

The ULN2003 also accepts regular 5v TTL logic as its INPUT. Just make sure you study the DATASHEET before you start working with that much current.

This chip is eaiser to work with than any transistor, due to its lack of ANY external components, (other than a resistor to limit your load from frying due to too much current or your load from frying the uln2003)

The ULN chips are pretty cheap, and if you have ever worked with any TTL, you will see that its just like a TTL chip. The ULN chips are also capable of supplying your load with up to 95volts, if you needed that much.
