Help If You Can. I bought the 276-1604 from radio shack. 2n3906 PNP. it says that pin1: emitter (meaning Out?)pin2:base(possibly +?) and pin3: collector (?) I'm trying to wire a 9v motor to the basic stamp. Thx in advance, Jimmio

Can Transistors be used as an amplifier? I need to get the little Piezo Speaker Louder. Could You Help Me? Thx in advance, Jimmio

Jimmio, you really could benefit from a basic course in electronics. Give "Getting Started in Electronics" by Forrest M Mims at try.

    Wow 12...-I'm 15.
    Sure we can help.
For a start, did you get the motor running with the article Jon gave you?
If yes good, if not, let us know.
For your piezo speaker, yes, one can use a transistor as an amplifier, in fact that's one common use in very simple amlifiers. How is it connected now (incl. voltages)? Once we know that, we'll help you deal with it.
Just a suggestion: Judging by your posts, it may be easier to get one thing straight at a time.

    Jimmio,

For reasons I have mentioned in a previous posts, you probably do not want to use a PNP with a 9V supply as your motor indicated
because the transistor will always be "ON". A NPN transistor would have been a better choice when using different voltage supplies.
That's not to say that you can't use a PNP, just don't go over 5V.
