I don't think we've published it yet, but it's very close to the BS2p24 and BS2pe24 -- though it uses a different (faster) EEPROM and faster resonator.

Is there something you think you'll glean from the schematic that our manual doesn't provide? We're happy to answer any questions.

Well, basically I just thought of making my own BASIC stamp by buying the parts from mouser.com and assmbling them by myself.· You might think, that it is easier to just buy one, i would, but making my own really turns me on - thats what I·like to do, so I guess I'll just stick to BS2 for a while...· and, that'll save me like 30 bucks.· Thanks a lot for your time helpin' out.

Just keep in mind that you must by the interpreter core from us -- everything else you can get anywhere. The PIC or SX that forms the core of the BASIC Stamp has our intellectual property in it (PBASIC virtual machine) and is not available from any other source.

I mean, I saw the web: (http://www.weethet.nl/english/basicstamp2_homebrew.php) same type of microchips seem to work. Take a look. I've been able to find all the components from Mouser.com

You'll notice that link refers to the Parallax PBASIC2 Interpreter ... that's the PIC we program with the PBASIC virtual machine, and I'm pretty sure that you can't get it anywhere but from us.· Here's a link to the sales page for that product.

Again, this is not a blank PIC16C57.

    Vladimir,

I went to the sight that you mentioned, and the very first component in the part list says....

    Parallax PBasic2 Interpreter (a Microchip PIC16C57)

If you just use a PIC16C57 by itself it simply won't work. You must have our PIC16C57 with
the PBasic Interpreter pre-programmed into it in order for it to function as a Stamp.

There is a link on the interpreter page (posted above) to the schematics for our OEM BASIC Stamp -- you can use that as a guide.

Ok, so on page (http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/products/basicstamps/oem_components.asp), I logically selected three items - a. 250-02060 20 MHz resonator (Stamp 2-DIP) b. 602-00001 2048-Byte EEPROM (Stamp 2-DIP) and c. PBASIC2C/P BASIC Stamp 2 Interpreter Chip (DIP). So everything else can be obtained from any other websites? (eg. regulator, resistors, etc.)

Yep. In fact, the only thing that you HAVE to buy from us is the interpreter -- the rest are common components.
